As a technical leader in clinical applications, applies advanced professional concepts and extensive industry knowledge to lead and / or work on medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity. Provides administrative and technical support in the development, installation, and ongoing maintenance of clinical information systems used throughout the institution. Maintains an outstanding customer service oriented relationship with each system owner. Maintains system/technical documentation, troubleshoots workstations and servers at an application level and facilitates open communication with IT / Clinical Systems and our departmental partners. Provides technical assistance in identifying and defining issues; evaluates and identifies methods and means for resolution as well as implements systems and procedures . Qualifications: ? Ten years professional experience in a technical setting, with information systems expertise including analytical and troubleshooting skills Eight years experience with PC workstations, including desktop operating systems; expertise in gathering and documenting detailed business requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related area, or equivalent combination of experience/training Experience in business analysis for the implementation of new applications and system maintenance or enhancements Expertise in Windows Server Administration to perform functions such as: installation of applications software, troubleshooting using server OS utilities, configuring antivirus and security policies and system performance benchmarking Experience supporting and implementing clinical communications systems such as; Rauland Borg Nurse call system (RNET, R4 or R5) Expertise in one or more of the following DBMS: Access, MSSQL, SQL Knowledge in one or more of the following operating systems: UNIX / AIX, Windows Server Knowledge in planning, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner Interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate productively with clinical users and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels Organizational and project management skills, and ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule. Written and verbal communications skills, to convey highly-technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical users and staff in a specific, clear, and concise manner Analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use Ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends Basic structure of HL-7 standard and how information flows from one system/ application to another using HL-7 format Be available 24x7 for emergencies involving critical technical problems The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations ? Preferred Qualifications Experience configuring and supporting middleware platforms (Connexall or other like Middleware) In-depth understanding of Nurse Call / clinical workflows including alarm management, integrated Clinical applications, and patient monitoring systems Experience supporting a Clinical Communications platform (Voalte or other like communications platform) ?
